Printer makers called Trinus prove, however, that the hardware can not only be tough but also cheap.

Trinus is a project of Kodama Inc., which is inspired by the idea of ​​creating a cheap 3D printer, and one that will not break down after a while because of the plastic components used to reduce production costs.

Trinus designers did not go easy, but they used metal components in their printers to provide higher endurance and better print quality, but at the same time they managed to maintain a very affordable price. The printer will be offered for less than $ 500.

The printer is made of aluminum and steel elements, attached to a metal frame and metal internal components. There are no transmission belts or plastic sprockets, and many components are removable, including a laser printhead. The printer also works with a wide range of materials such as PLA, ABX, PC, wood and many others that can be used to produce items.

The advantage of the device is its simple construction and the future user can easily handle the purchase of a printer, as there are only eleven items to connect. The manufacturer claims that even someone without technical knowledge is able to handle this task within a maximum of 30 minutes.

Typical print speed is 70 mm / s but can be increased to a maximum of 150 mm / s. The minimum thickness of the applied layer is 50 microns. The laser head can also engrave in wood, leather, food, cork and other soft materials.

Trinus will be available in August and without a laser head will cost $ 299, while the buyer will receive 45 g of PoluMaker fiber. For an additional $ 40 will receive a heated stand, while for another $ 25 will get 750 grams of filament. With an engraving head, the printer will cost more than $ 379.
